Seriously, it amazes me that clients will pay three thousand dollars or more, and yet not even care about it. Two sites that I’ve been working on are done, and just need the client’s logo, or their content, or various other things. And the clients either have someone else pick up to say they are on vacation, or do not respond to emails/phone calls, or even get back to me with them.
Do people just take money for granted or something? I don’t really view that sort of thing as a light investment; I’d be all over the web design tech going when’s it going to be done, how’s it going, and being all-around annoying until it’s done to my satisfaction! (cue Satisfaction by Benny Benassi right here). Well, okay, from the perspective of said designer maybe that’s not such a good idea, but that’s still quite a bit of money. That might not pay for college, but it’s definitely about three to five months of rent!
But what can you do? It’s not really my money to mess around with; all I can do is try calling and emailing them until they finally respond. I thought that one client would be good enough to respond when I actually received a single image for her site, but as it turns out… No response at all. No images like I asked for to help her sell her stuff, no brief description of the types of properties she has, nothing. You’d think that with the economy the way it is, she could at least call or something. But nope. Not one word. Another one keeps saying he’s on vacation; said ‘vacation’ was supposedly supposed to be over about a week ago.
Oy ve, people, would you rather just give your money to me to pay rent? It’s worth more that way than paying for a website that you don’t ask for updates on or otherwise show any kind of care about after the first tech call!
