I finally got my account fixed here so that I can start blogging. Now on the topic at hand. More and more I am beginning to truly believe that everyone has an ML now. Almost every site I have SEOed so far has been an MLM. Today however, while I did in fact have a MLM, it was not a particularly generic one. It was for a rep of Arbonne needing our services.

Today was definitely a good day because for a good portion of the day, I spent time browsing pictures of beautiful women applying lipstick. WHOOOO! Hard work let me tell you. LOL. But on a serious note, I learned how to do something that I have 1) always wanted to do and 2) is very useful when constructing banners. I learned how to match skin tones to one another. After wasting about 30 minutes trying to coerce PhotoShop to do it for me, I broke down and asked a co-worker if they could help me (completely out of character as I like finding it on my own). He instructed me on how to use the adjustment tools in the Image menu, all of which I have not done much exploring with. In a very short period of time ( about 25 seconds) we had a very very very close match in skin tone.
You see the original picture is this stunning photograph of this girl with astonishingly beautiful eyes, wearing bright read lipstick, and a very light tan skin tone overlaid with a very soft, well kept, satiny coat. Almost no shine reflected from her face. She had no hint of red at all in her skin save for the lipstick.
On the other side of the color spectrum, literally, I had sampled a finger from another photo, so that it could represent her finger holding some lipstick. While the finger was model quality, generally speaking, the tone of this skin was very rich with red, not to mention a much darker base than the original. Because I like the finger and the girl so much, I stubbornly insisted that they work together.
In any even, the moral of the story here is: know how to use your tools, and if you don’t, ask someone who does. After all you can be the best sketcher of all time, but if you don’t have a sharpened pencil you are not getting very far.
