Content and SEO
One of the biggest transformations seen in search engine results over the last couple years is a notable preference for pages with content in the 1,000 word range. If you are serious about developing pages that will rank in the top 10 results, then it is vital to begin increasing your content.
Web pages resembling either magazine ads or brochures (with limited content), are often ineffective, both for SEO and for marketing as well. Creating quality content has become even more essential than ever.
“The first major difference that jumps out in the Yahoo results is the preference Yahoo’s algorithm seems to have for more words on a page. The average number of words on a page for Google was 943 while Yahoo’s average words per page in the top 10 was 1305.” GoRank.com
Unless you are willing to invest heavily into paid advertising programs, this really leaves only two solutions. You can choose to hire a professional copywriter to develop powerful copy for your website, or you can learn effective techniques to do this yourself.
Essentially, writing for the web involves learning to develop excellent marketing content, while blending in the fundamentals of SEO techniques. I promise you this, the more you do it, the better you will get. It seems that to excel in writing, we have to actually write, and write, and write! The more practice we get, the stronger our skills become.

Keep Your Blood Moving
I don’t know how it is in your individual case, but personally, I freeze really quickly. When that happens, I can’t type quite as fast as I do in normal circumstances. Try to keep your blood moving to stay warm, whether that means listening to hyped up music, turning up the heater or manually warming yourself up. While working on a South Dakota Insurance site, I’m doing everything I can from turning into a pop sickle.

The importance of good sleep before work
Today I want to talk about getting optimum rest before scheduled activities. Such as going to school, work, or any daytime activity. Proper diet is a major part of this subject, because you not only require the proper fuel to run your body, but it will also make you more alert and focused. If you don’t it can leave you in a state of exhaustion and pretty scatterbrained, not to mention causing drowsiness. The other main focus of this subject is healthy, solid, natural sleep. When you get a standard sleep pattern set up make sure you take advantage of a full nights sleep. You not only wake up feeling rejuvenated, but refreshed and completely aware and alert. It can improve your performance in many aspects living a healthy and steady lifestyle. Not to mention Proper diet and exercise to keep you vibrant and productive no matter what you are doing.

Quick Ways To ‘Propel’ Your Website Up The Search Engine Rankings
As you may already know, one of the most crucial factors in determining your website’s search engine rankings is the number of high quality backlinks pointing to your website. If you’re looking to increase your search engine rankings, here are 4 super quick ways to turbo charge your SEO (without putting in too much work!):
Press Releases
Press releases remain one of the most underused methods to generate a ton of quality backlinks ‘in a heartbeat’! Write a press release in the style of a newspaper report and submit it using a press release submitter like PR Web or Web Wire. When online publications pick up your press release and use it, you will generate backlinks.
Article Submissions
Submitting articles to authority article websites are another quality way to generate backlinks. The problem is that writing can be a chore! The solution is to hire a freelancer to write a batch of 3 to 5 articles to submit to articles all around the web. The more article directories you post, the more backlinks you will have.
Forum Posting
Posting on forums is one of the most popular ways to get backlinks. However, some forums use the no-follow tag to stop search engine spiders from spidering their sites and picking up your links. Use the Page Source option in your web browser to see if this is the case.
Social Bookmarking
Social bookmarking is one HOT trend to hit the Internet recently. You can use this trend to create real juicy incoming links. Just post up your site to social bookmarking sites like Digg and Stumble Upon to start getting those links instantly!

For Pete’s Sake, Check Your Work
While working on a site for insurance in Washington I found that the person who previously worked on it left so many holes that I may as well have done everything myself from scratch. Pages were left entirely blank, cities were listed as the city name followed by a number, and bullet lists were low if there were any at all. For Pete’s sake, please check what you put into a site.

10 Tips for Design
1. Non-Optimised Enormous Graphics
You may think your 200kb graphic is wonderful, but it will never show up on most surfers screens (especially those on slower modems) as they just won’t wait long enough to see it.
2. Visual Clutter!
You’ve got a glaring complex background with small text in a clashing colour. Urgh! Shortly you’ll have no visitors, Fix it!
3. Pointless additions
Don’t put ‘features’ on your site just because you can! If you use Java applets, animations or flash, make sure they add something to the site. Your enormous, pointless animation has just upped someone’s phone bill.
4. Music!
Your general surfers are interested in you site content, not your musical ability (unless you’re running a music site of course ).
5. Confusing navigation!
Keep your navigation really simple. Work out a consistent navigation style and stick with it.
6. Extreme scrolling
There’s no prize for creating the longest scrolling page, so try to avoid it!
7. Failed Link checking.
Just check your links regularly. Nothing annoys surfers more than clicking links that go nowhere. See our links page for site checking resources, and tell us if any of ours don’t work!
8. Old news
If you’re going to run a news service, make sure it’s up to date. If you can’t be bothered updating, link to someone who can - then give credit where it’s due.
9. Frames
Multi-window frames might look great on your 17″ monitor, but they’ll be claustrophobic on anything smaller. If you use them, use them properly and keep them simple.
10. Lack of promotion
There is no point telling people all about the web site you spent months building, if they simply can’t find it.

SEO Fuel
Good Coffee makes good SEO. What I mean by this is, having a good morning to your day. Whatever makes your day go by. For me, I have to have good coffee. Made the way I like to drink it. Having along with it some good breakfast sandwich doesn’t hurt also. Imagine trying to do some SEO work and not having these things in the morning. Most of us don’t have to imagine. Because for some of us, including me sometimes, it’s a reality. We go by half the day without breakfast. I used to do this all the time, by just having Colgate or some kind of toothpaste for breakfast, if you know what I mean. This certainly makes my day with SEO a drag. This thing called breakfast is actually good for you. It is fuel for your body and mind. Without fuel, SEO will be hard to come by. SEO will be a lot easier to flow by if you feed your body its required fuel, which is at least breakfast with some Coffee.

Purpose of Bullets
In SEO content, keyword penetration, and keyword density is key. This can be a little difficult to people just starting SEO work. However, there is a quick and simple way to good keyword penetration and keyword density and that is by using bullets. This places the keywords in the content more then enough times to get good results with out making the site look bad.
